Information
He visitor to the hospital encounters a rich spectrum of paintings made primarily by Lower Austrian artists. As a result, this place becomes enriched with an optica, sensual and intellectual touch.
In 2014, the art project went due to renovation work of the building in loss.
Franz Part's task in spring 2000 was to give the artist's touch to the foyer of the Public General Hospital in Waidhofen an der Thaya. His work consists of three parts which in their choice of symbols primarily reflect the actual location, i.e. the hospital surroundings. The dialogue between work of art and architecture typically created by an installation is moved to the background to make way for the graphic dimension and the substance expressed by the artist. Franz Part's preffered medium of design is the panel painting. He chooses pictures which sometimes take on relief character, taking possession of the surroundings they have been placed in. Yet they never lose their strong ties to the walls, which are their supports in the traditional sense.
