Information
A decision of exemplary status was made concerning the commissioning of art projects for public space in Lower Austria in 1991. For the first time, an attempt was made to award artists commissions for specific concepts in categories of interior design usually associated with aesthetic issues but seldom with artistic ones.
'Durchdringung II' (Penetration II) is the artistic emblem of the hospital together with related sculptures in the ballroom and staff dining room. The curve is the base for the combined effects of various forces; the straight element, a symbol for time here, is penetrated by the arc of individual life.
'Durchdringung III' (Penetration III) as a central sign in the ballroom is a symbol which argues for perfection, the harmonising of body, soul and spirit.
'Durchdringung IV' (Penetration IV) addresses the perceptive organs. The five senses, wave shaped, spread out around an axis turned by 90°, readopting the arc of life of the entrance zone.
