Information
The chapel space is simple and elegant, tranquil and well-lit. It is dominated by light, colour and an unassuming beech wood design taking in the session, tabernacle, lectern and the altar with an image of the Madonna and child.
The interior of the chapel is simple, restful and bright. Its atmosphere and vibrations are produced by the light, the colours, the beech wood used and an image of the Virgin Mary and Child. The special wish for a chapel dedicated to the Virgin Mary has been included in the artistic design and implemented, using contemporary technology, as a large-scale glass painting that determines the first impression upon entering the chapel. The backlight of the window apertures situated in the altar area is an indirect light source for colour reflections on slightly staggered wall panels. This produces a colour space that penetrates the depth and subtly repeat the characteristic red and blue colours in the image of the Virgin Mary. The design of the session, tabernacle, ambo and altar, which has been kept very plain in beech wood with integrated dark slate tiles, determines the contemplative atmosphere of the altar area and of the chapel.
