Information
The photo project by Lorenz "eSeL" Seidler made the functions and roles of a museum visible even before the opening of the Landesgalerie Niederösterreich in Krems.
eSeL accompanied the construction phase until the opening with photos, posters and postcards of an unusual "Behind the Scenes" series of portraits. Employees of the Landesgalerie Niederösterreich staged their work in selected locations in Krems, in order to clarify the specifics of their work for the art through the special features of the selected squares. In addition, five private objects of the portrayed hidden in each picture refer to the respective working practice as "attributes". Since the beginning of 2019, the photos as posters and postcards in public spaces in Vienna and Krems have presented a heterogeneous portrait of the new art institutions - as well as a divers panorama of the hometown of the museum. The postcards were commented on by eSeL drawings, handwritten annotations on the poster motifs allow further excursions into the worlds of thought of art and artists.
