Elisabeth Schimana
Elisabeth Schimana began working as a composer and a performance and radio artist in 1983. She is also the founder and director of the IMA (Institute of Media Archeology). She studied electro-acoustic and experimental music at the Hochschule für Musik und darstellende Kunst (University of Music and Performing Arts) in Vienna, computer music and composition at the IEM Graz (Institute of Electronic Music and Acoustics), and musicology and ethnology at the University of Vienna. Her works revolve around space, bodies, and electronics. She frequently cooperates with the ORF Kunstradio (Austrian public radio station), and she conducts research in the field of women, art, and technology.
