Flora Neuwirth
Born 1971 in Graz, Austria, Flora Neuwirth lives and works in Vienna. She studied at the Akademie der bildenden Künste (Academy of Fine Arts) in Vienna and the Universität der Künste (University of the Arts) in Berlin from 1991 to 1995. In 1995 and 1996, she was a resident at the MAK Center for Art and Architecture in Los Angeles, and the Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris in 1997. She has had many exhibitions in Austria and abroad, including at the Galerie der Stadt Schwaz, Kunstverein Wolfsburg, Kunsthalle Kiel, Kunsthalle Vienna, and Kunstmuseum Bonn. She has worked on numerous public art projects, including for the sports center in Schwaz (2004), the prison in Leoben (2003/2005), the airport in Graz-Thalerhof (2003), and the Landmark office building in Leibniz (1998). From 2008 to 2013 she worked on clubblumen – eine Utopie im sozialen Raum (club flowers – a utopia in social space) in Vienna.
