Irena Eden
Born 1974 in Hamburg, lives in Vienna. Studied at the Muthesius Kunsthochschule Kiel, Academia Likovnih Umjetnosti, Sarajevo, Kunstakademie Weissensee, Berlin. Since 2004 collaboration with Stijn Lernout. Their main topics are different types of migration and their cultural localization. Formally, Eden & Lernout have developed an abstract, geometric-constructivist formal language. The principle of superposition of layers runs through the pictorial, sculptural and installative levels of their artistic projects.
