Information
A decision of exemplary status was made concerning the commissioning of art projects for public space in Lower Austria in 1991. For the first time, an attempt was made to award artists commissions for specific concepts in categories of interior design usually associated with aesthetic issues but seldom with artistic ones.
The small paper objects are combined with found everyday objects (wire springs) and are linked with the paper shape. The connection is just as much of a theme as the bringing together of foreign elements. This lends the pieces a new dimension between recognition and not-yet-knowing. The modesty of the format is an invitation to hone the viewer's gaze onto small things, to see that these can have intrinsic artist merit too.
