Katrin Hornek
Born 1983, Katrin Hornek lives as a freelance artist in Vienna. She studied at the Akademie der bildenden Künste (Academy of Fine Arts) in Vienna (2003–2008), the Royal Danish Academy (2006), and CalArts in Los Angeles (2007), where she was a guest student. She has travelled to Mongolia and was a resident in Australia (RMIT & Air Krems, Melbourne), Ireland (NFS and Guesthouse, Cork), the US (MAK Schindler scholarship, Los Angeles), Canada (BANFF Centre), and China (Red Gate Gallery, Beijing). Her most recent projects have been shown at the fourth Moscow Biennale, Ellen de Bruijne PROJECTS/Dolores (Amsterdam, 2011), Kunstraum Lakeside (Klagenfurt, 2012), the MAK Center in Los Angeles (2013), Shiryaevo Biennale in Russia (2013), Office Hours in Los Angeles, and Tiroler Künstlerschaft (2014).
