Agnes Fuchs

Born 1965 in Vienna. She lives and works in Vienna, Lower Austria, and Berlin. She studied at the Universität für angewandte Kunst (University of Applied Arts) in Vienna. She has received many awards, including the Kunstpreis Ökologie (Eco Arts Award), the Georg Eisler Prize for Painting, as well as the Recognition Award of the State of Lower Austria. She was an artist-in-residence at the HWK Institute for Advanced Study in Delmenhorst and the Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris in 2016. Her selected exhibitions include CCS in Paris (2012), Kunsthalle Wien (2011), Aargauer Kunsthaus in Aarau (2009), and Galerie Stadtpark in Krems (2004). Fuchs’s works explore perception, forms, and contexts, often taking the shape of experiments or research projects located at the intersection of art and science. Her installation in Baden is her second spatially expansive public artwork using glass as a material.
