Martin Strauß
* 1957 in Wasserburg am Inn, Germany. † 2010. He studied philosophy and sociology in Munich and art in Nuremberg and Berlin. In 1988, he moved to Vienna, where he lived and worked as an artist, curator, and author until 2010. His public art and art in mass media projects were exhibited in Austria and abroad. His most well-known works include a project with billboards in Vienna called Abstrakte Malerei (Abstract Painting) (2010), his work Miete, Strom, Gas (Rent, Electricity, Gas) shown at the Festival der Regionen in Linz (2009), and Kampagnen ohne Auftrag (Campaigns without Commission) shown in the Museum für angewandte Kunst in Vienna (2004).
